GHK-Cu 100mg — copper peptide, freeze-dried
GHK-Cu is a tripeptide-copper complex: glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to copper. It occurs naturally in human plasma, and reported plasma concentrations decline with age. Research interest centres on skin and collagen pathways, largely in vitro and in animal models. GHK-Cu also appears in cosmetic formulations, typically at low concentrations.
Why freeze-dried matters for a copper peptide
Copper peptides are particularly sensitive to degradation in solution. Once GHK-Cu enters water, hydrolysis attacks the peptide bonds, oxidation affects the coordination between the peptide and the copper ion, and individual molecules aggregate over time. Heat and light accelerate all of these processes.
Supplying GHK-Cu freeze-dried keeps the tripeptide-copper complex chemically stable through manufacturing, freight, customs, warehousing and delivery. The pen is only reconstituted at the point of use, using the bacteriostatic water pen included in the kit.
